GDC Kargil organizes tour for students to Hundurmaan village

Kargil April 19, 2023: The Dept. of History GDC Kargil along with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Unit on Sunday (World Heritage Day) organized a tour for students to Hundurmaan heritage village as part of G20 program.

The visit was aimed to explore the rich cultural heritage of the village and highlight its significance. The students got an opportunity to interact with local residents and learn their way of life and challenges they face in the border village.

The village known for its Museum Unlock Hundurmaan is situated on Line of Control (LOC) has a history dating back to ancient times. It has been witness to numerous conflicts and has played a pivotal role in shaping the history of the region.

During the visit, the students were shown historical landmarks. They were also introduced to local crafts, such as weaving and pottery which have passed from generation to generation.

The Dept. of History and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Unit believe that it is important to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the region and are committed to provide opportunities for students to learn about their heritage and contribute to its preservation.

The visit to Hundurmaan was a great success and the students left with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the cultural heritage of the region. The college is committed to hold more such visits in the future.
