Government Degrees College Kargil
Today on 8th of Nov 2021, Student Council Election was held at Government Degree College Kargil for the first time. The initiative was taken under the worthy guidance of Principal GDC Kargil, Dr Amina Qari and the senior faculty members of the college.
The establishment of College Student Council aims to encourage democratic temper and leadership qualities among the youths. The practice will also increase their awareness in understanding their democratic rights and also understand and participate in elections conducted by the Election Commission of India.
The establishment of College Student Council was a long standing demand from the student folks who were in dire need of representatives to get their problems to the higher authority.
The election was conducted with great success and immense participation from the students was witnessed.
The Election Commission of the College and various faculty members contributed vigorously to make it a success.
The election started at 11:00 a.m. and was closed at 03:00 p.m.
By 06:00 p.m. winners for various executive posts were declared.
The executive member elected for various posts are as follows
1. Mohd Showkat - President
2. Zahra Batool - Vice President
3. Akbar Ali - Gen Secretary
4. Mohd Riyaz - Cashier
