Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh visits GDC Kargil.
As part of extensive tour of Kargil district Shri R K Mathur, Honorable Lieutenant Governor, UT Of Ladakh visited GDC Kargil. He was accompanied by CEC, LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Santosh Sukhdeva (IAS) and other district officers. The dignitaries were accorded traditional welcome by Principal GDC Kargil, Dr Aamina Qari. All the staff members of the college were present on the occasion. Post welcome the Hon’ble Governor inaugurated the state-of-the-art computer based test center (CBT) which is funded and established by National Informatics Center of the district administration in the college. The hon’ble LG was informed that UT level computer-based exams would be conducted in these centers. He was also apprised that two more such centers have been established at ITI Kargil and Polytechnic College Kargil.
Hon’ble LG also paid visit to the exhibition stall presented by the Ladakh Craft & Design Skill Centre of the College wherein numerous handicraft items were showcased by the skillful student trainees of the center. Ladakhi traditional design posters were also showed to the dignitaries. The chief guest congratulated and appreciated the Principal and the coordinator Dr Javed Naqi (Sr Asst. Professor) for the innovative efforts. Principal Dr Aamina Qari apprised the Hon’ble LG of the issues being faced by the college to which the Hon’ble LG assured to resolve the issues on priority basis.
