Event Report
In pursuant to the direction of the worthy Vice-chancellor, University of Ladakh and in view of the NEP 2020 implementation from the forthcoming session 23-2024 in the various constituent colleges of University of Ladakh, the NEP awareness team of Govt. Degree college Kargil initiated with the first NEP 2020 awareness program in what is going to be a series of programs in different feeding higher secondary schools of district Kargil.
On 22th of March 2023 the team visited Munshi Habibullah Mission Higher Sec. School, Bemaithang and held the awareness program to the students of 12th, 11th and 10th standard. The principal and the staff accorded a warm welcome to the team and appreciated the initiative.
At the outset, Mr. Stanzin Norphail, Nodal officer and Assistant professor of commerce apprised the students about the New Education Policy 2020 and its salient features. He spoke about the Academic Bank of Credit(ABC), its utility and the need for students to register. Mr. Sajad Hussain, Assistant Professor of Chemistry focused on the FYUGP curriculum framework and its intricacies. Both the speakers took 15 minutes each for the presentation.
The second session was earmarked for questions. Many students came up with their questions which were duly addressed by both the speakers. Mr. Khadim Ul Hassanian, IT incharge of the college assisted the team with the logistics support. At last, the team expressed sincere thanks to the Principal, teachers and the students for making the event a success.
